Day one of the festival is here
G’day folks. It’s been a while since we caught up. I must get around to filling you in on the blanks at some point. That would be the point where I don’t have anything to do but sit at my computer. Not sure when that will happen as I’m back in Tamworth for the 2019 Tamworth Country Music Festival. With 40-plus-degree days, it’s going to be a hot one in more ways than just the obvious. So many good shows. So many choices. How will I decide? To help in your choices, I’ve thoroughly studied the Official Guide program, which is still the best value program around at just $10. With it you get the whole program, heaps of stories and a double CD collection of Star Maker-winning tracks. Ask Tamworth Regional Council country music manager Barry Harley and he might even throw in a block of flats in Tasmania for you!
Knowing a good deal of the acts, I have come up with my pick of the shows for each of the 10 days of the festival.
All you have to do is find a printer, print it out, or simply keep a copy on you at all times so you know what your options are.
There’s also a very handy festival app, which can be used on both IOS and Android phones. Just search TCMF2019 in your app store.
Make sure you buy your copy of the Official Guide – it’s a great souvenir. It might even help you make sense of my Choice Picks for the 2019 event. Have a good one!
I got out and about last night and caught up with some good friends for dinner, then checked out Michael Bryers at Tamworth Services Club. This guy is such a good writer, and his voice is superb. I’d class him in the same vocal category as Graeme Connors – and he’s #1 in my book. Catch up with Michael if you can. He’s a beauty. Hot band, too, with some of my good mates in it.
